Supporting Families to Help Young People Thrive

At Newman Catholic College, we know that supporting the mental health and wellbeing of young people is a partnership between school and home. Through our Parent Wellbeing Forum Series, we provide parents and carers with practical, evidence-based information and strategies to help navigate the opportunities and challenges of raising young people in today's world.

Presented each term in Week 5 by Mr Matt Kirby and Mrs Alison Thomson (pictured right), these interactive forums explore current topics affecting young people and equip families with knowledge, confidence and practical tools to support their child's wellbeing.

More than just an information session, our Wellbeing Forums provide an opportunity for parents to connect, ask questions and learn from one another in a welcoming and supportive environment.

Previous Wellbeing Forums

Our previous sessions have included:

  • Screen Time & Social Media: Setting Your Family Up for Success
  • Positive Boundaries: Parenting with Connection & Confidence

Each forum responds to the evolving needs of families and reflects current research and best practice in youth wellbeing.
